Tammy Slaton’s Journey Towards Skin Removal Surgery

Tammy Slaton, star of 1000-lb Sisters, has long expressed her desire for skin removal surgery. After years of working to shed several hundred pounds, she is now facing mobility challenges due to excess skin. Her brother, Chris Combs, has noted that Tammy’s stomach skin hangs past her knees, making it difficult for her to walk comfortably.

However, during a recent episode, Dr. Smith advised that Tammy isn’t ready for the procedure. Seeking a second opinion, Tammy and Chris hoped for better news, but their new doctor had similar reservations.

Doctor’s Decision on Skin Removal Surgery

Facing disappointing news from the doctor is never easy, and fans are hopeful that this setback won’t deter Tammy from her weight loss journey. Dr. Turner explained, “Tammy is not currently a candidate for skin removal surgery because she’s about 13 or 14 months post-weight loss surgery. At this point, she should focus on losing more weight over the next six months to a year before we revisit this topic.”

Although Tammy felt disheartened by the news, Dr. Turner encouraged her to stay motivated. “I’m not saying ‘no,’” he reassured her. “I’m just saying ‘not tomorrow.’”

Despite her disappointment, there was a silver lining during her appointment. When Tammy stepped on the scale, she was thrilled to see that she weighed 281.2 pounds. This milestone meant she weighed less than Chris for the first time in her life.

Celebrating Progress

Tammy proudly shared, “The last time I weighed 281, I was in fourth or fifth grade. I’m the baby sister, but I’m not the ‘big’ baby sister anymore.” This moment of triumph highlights her hard work and dedication to her weight loss journey.

While the road to skin removal surgery may still be ahead, Dr. Turner confirmed that it remains a possibility as she continues to progress. With her commitment to her health, Tammy has made remarkable strides since completing her rehab, and fans are eager to see where her journey takes her next.
