Deon Derrico’s $441K Auction Just Took a Devastating Turn: Zero Bids — the Bank Took the House Back

September 1 was supposed to be the day Deon Derrico’s money nightmare finally hit rock bottom — one way or another. Instead, according to an exclusive report from The Sun surfacing this week, things got worse: not a single buyer bid on the Derricos’ Las Vegas home at the foreclosure auction. The four-bedroom house featured on Doubling Down With the Derricos went straight back to the bank.

This is a genuine October development — our October 8 explainer on this blog could only say no sale result had been reported. Now there is one, and it’s bleak.

Zero Bids at $441,842: What Happened on September 1

According to The Sun, the 4-bed, 3-bath North Las Vegas home did not sell at the September 1 auction and was returned to the bank. A representative for the auction company confirmed the bank will likely schedule another sale opportunity — but as of mid-October, no new auction date has been publicly confirmed.

One notable detail: The Sun now reports the opening bid for the cash-only sale was $441,842 — an updated figure from the $430,254 reported before the auction. Either way, nobody at the sale thought the number was worth bidding on.

How It Got Here: A Foreclosure Fight Going Back to 2020

This didn’t start in 2026. Per The Sun’s reporting on court papers, Deon filed a petition for foreclosure mediation assistance back in March 2020, after the home — which he purchased in 2015 — went into default. A mediator was assigned to negotiate between the lender and Deon, but the two sides could not agree on a loan modification, and the negotiations were terminated.

Six years later, the same house — the backdrop for four sets of multiples growing up on TLC — is sitting in the bank’s hands.

Five Bankruptcies and a Family of 16

The foreclosure is only one front of the money war. According to The Sun, Deon and Karen have filed for bankruptcy five times over the years — a number that stopped fans cold when it first surfaced. Deon is also in a lawsuit with his own business partner over who even owns the Las Vegas home.

And the math never worked in their favor: fourteen children, four sets of multiples, and TLC paychecks that ended when the family walked away after five seasons. In a November 2025 podcast interview, Deon revealed the post-TLC reality — he works as a school bus driver, and Karen as a substitute teacher. Fans have done their own money math for years, and it has never added up.

What Happens Next — and Where Do the Kids Live?

Here’s the part that has fans worried: in a July 2026 interview, Deon said 12 of the 14 children are currently staying with him — in the very house the bank just repossessed. If the lender schedules a second auction, what happens to the kids’ home? No one has said publicly. Fans are speculating, not confirming.

Your Turn: One More Chance or Enough Is Enough?

The fandom is splitting clean down the middle on this one. Team Fresh Start says the bank should work out one more deal with Deon — fourteen kids need a stable roof, and auctioning the family home helps nobody. Team Enough Is Enough says five bankruptcies and six years of foreclosure proceedings mean the money mistakes are on him, and no lender owes him a sixth lifeline.

Where do you land — should the bank give Deon one more shot at saving the house, or is the repossession just the inevitable ending of this chapter? Sound off below, and keep it respectful — the kids are reading.
