Whitney Thore from ‘My Big Fat Fabulous Life’
My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Thore has shared efforts to become pregnant in Season 13 of the TLC series, including artificial insemination—and recently, she shared an update.
During an exclusive interview with Parade, the reality TV personality, 41, admitted that her journey to motherhood is an “ongoing process” that will play out this season. She also pointed out that chatter on social media isn’t always accurate.
“I do see a lot of people, like, speculating online and stuff like that,” Thore said. “But to that, I would just say that people always think that they know what’s going on, but like, you never really know. So what I’ll say is that the journey is far, far from over. And I’m really excited about the future.”
In Season 13 so far, viewers watched Thore get a negative pregnancy test after purchasing sperm online from a sperm bank and trying at-home artificial insemination. Fans will soon see her try intrauterine insemination (IUI), a procedure during which a doctor inserts sperm directly into the uterus.
While chatting with Parade, Thore teased, “I’m happy and pleased with the way that the journey is going. I’ll say that.”
In previous seasons of MBFFL, Thore expressed not wanting to have kids as a single mom and instead waiting until she was in a long-term relationship. Her outlook has changed now that she’s in her 40s.
“I can’t pinpoint like one moment necessarily where I was like, ‘Nevermind, I’m doing this,’” she explained. “I really think it’s just the good old biological clock. I think I always kind of thought in the past, like, ‘Oh, I have a little bit more time, a little bit more time.”
Thore continued, “I think just finally realizing if I don’t take this into my own hands and try everything possible, it really is not going to happen. And it’s going to pass me by.”
In conclusion, the reality personality shared, “I decided that that was just not a risk that I was willing to take in life. Because, you know, we’ve only got one. So you have to really go after what you want, even if you have to do it alone in your bedroom with a speculum.”
