Tammy Slaton, star of the TLC reality show 1000-Lb Sisters, has revealed her stunning transformation after shedding what she describes as “three whole versions” of herself.

With weight loss becoming a major trend — and millions turning to GLP-1 medications like Ozempic — the spotlight has recently grown even brighter. In fact, the NHS has now approved Mounjaro for weight loss under strict eligibility criteria.

Tammy and her sister Amy rose to fame through their hit reality series, which chronicled their lives as their combined weight exceeded 1,000 pounds. At her heaviest, Tammy has said she weighed over 700 pounds.

But after years of dedication through strict dieting, consistent exercise, and a life-changing bariatric surgery in 2022 — which reduced her stomach size and altered her gut hormones — the 38-year-old believes she’s lost the equivalent of “three whole versions” of herself, having dropped an astonishing 540 pounds over the past five years.

Following a recent skin removal surgery, Tammy sat down with People magazine to reveal her remarkable transformation and open up about adjusting to her new body.

Tammy shared her emotions with People, saying:
“After six years and losing over 500 pounds, I was finally approved for surgery. I was just overwhelmed with excitement. I worked really hard for this, and now that it’s finally happening, the shock and joy were written all over my face.”

She admitted feeling anxious about the procedure:
“I was really nervous about the skin removal surgery — mostly because I didn’t know how I’d feel seeing myself without the belly. The night before, I was freaking out. Honestly, I was more terrified of the skin removal than the sleeve gastrectomy, because they were actually cutting off the whole belly!”

Healthcare professionals were impressed — and perhaps even surprised — by how well Tammy handled the recovery following the skin removal surgery she had been so anxious about.

“I actually surprised the doctors with how quickly my body was healing,” she shared. “I ended up coming home from Pittsburgh about four days earlier than expected.”

Tammy’s journey has been long and challenging. Back in 2020, doctors asked her to lose just 30 pounds, but when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it became even harder for her to leave the house and stay active.

Instead of losing weight, she gained 100 pounds — but eventually managed to shed 130, marking a major turning point in her path toward better health.

The 38-year-old also lost her husband Caleb at the age of just 40 in 2023, but it seems his loss has only inspired her to go further, and she now looks like a completely different woman, as she currently weighs in at a little over 200lbs.
