Whitney Thore Takes a Risk on Love With a Blind Date on My Big Fat Fabulous Life Season 13
In Season 13 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, star Whitney Thore decided to take a chance on love by agreeing to go on a blind date.
Ahead of the upcoming July 22 episode, TLC released an exclusive sneak peek to Parade, giving fans a look at how Thore’s friends helped set her up with a mystery man.
At the start of the clip, Thore’s friend Isaiah Martin explained he was behind organizing the date. “Whitney really wants a man, but she’s been striking out left and right,” he told producers. “If this works out, they really need to start calling me the love doctor because I’ve got the cure.”
As Whitney waited at the restaurant alongside Martin and his wife, Jessica Powell, she gently reminded them not to mention her recent artificial insemination.
“Have you thought about when might be a good time to bring that up?” Powell asked.
“If I’m being honest, I don’t really assume I’m going to meet anyone,” Whitney admitted. “So it’s not even on my mind.”
When Powell and Martin pointed out that she was meeting someone that very night, Whitney clarified, “Someone who might actually want to see me again.”
Speaking to producers, Thore confessed, “I wish I felt more confident. But honestly, I’m incredibly picky about men I can see. So knowing I’m going on a date with someone I haven’t even laid eyes on makes me think the chances of success are pretty low.”
Just as Martin cracked a joke about her ending up with “another cat or a baby,” a man named John entered the restaurant.
“Oh lord, Jesus, here we go,” Whitney sighed. “I really don’t want to be here or do this.”
