McKayla and her grandparents were close. While she was pregnant by Caelan, her high school sweetheart, her grandparents supported her throughout the pregnancy (and after she gave birth). Her grandfather was not very happy, as he felt she was too young to handle parenthood, and although he said he was “disappointed,” he never stopped being “proud” of her.
