Shauna Rae, the 25-year-old star of TLC’s I Am Shauna Rae, has captured hearts with her honesty and resilience — but there’s one part of her life she keeps out of the spotlight: her love life.
Standing just 3’10” due to a childhood illness that stunted her growth, Shauna often faces unique challenges when it comes to dating. While she’s never been shy about speaking her truth, she recently opened up on The Unplanned Podcast about why she’s keeping her current relationship under wraps.
“It’s not that we’re hiding each other,” she explained. “He has a great job, and I don’t want anything I share to affect that. His workplace knows who I am — they’re super supportive — but I just want to protect his privacy.”
Shauna, who came out as pansexual a few years ago, also shared how her family warned her early on about people who might only be interested in her because of her appearance.
“I was scared to date,” she admitted. “My mom and stepdad always told me, ‘Anyone who’s into you, you need to question why.’ That stuck with me.”
Despite those fears, Shauna says she’s finally found someone who sees her for who she really is — and for now, she’s happy keeping that love offline.
