Bella Vaughn Breaks Silence: “I Regret” Doing Unexpected — and She’s Done With Season 8

She was the most talked-about teen mom in Unexpected history — and now Bella Vaughn says she wishes it never happened. In her most candid comments yet, the Season 7 breakout star calls her time on the show “a horrible experience,” admits she sometimes regrets ever filming, and confirms she is done with Unexpected — even if Season 8 comes calling.
From Engagement Ring to Breakup in 3 Weeks
The collapse started in public. On May 6, 2026, Bella announced her engagement to Hunter Johnson — the father of her son and the youngest dad ever featured on the show — writing, “From promise ring to engagement ring, I’ll forever love you.” Just 23 days later, it was over.
“Yes, we did break up,” Bella said in a TikTok video posted May 29, according to People.com. “I won’t go into detail why, but he lied to me and hurt my feelings… There was no drama, no tea behind it.” She added that the pair would keep co-parenting their son Wesley — nicknamed “Bubba” — who was born in March 2025 and just turned one. “Please don’t go attacking anyone, including us,” she told fans. “I am better off on my own.”
The two briefly tried to reconcile in late June, according to reports — then split again in mid-July. Hunter has reportedly moved on with someone new, while custody battles have reportedly continued in an Arkansas court.

“It Was a Horrible Experience”
But the breakup was only the beginning of the fallout. Speaking recently, per TVShowsAce, Bella revealed what fame actually cost her family.
“It’s hard, especially going through a situation like I did with the show and everything,” Bella said. “Y’all know the reason we left [our town]? We moved because the town we were in was horrible and toxic and those people are absolutely disgusting. After all that went down [on the show], I literally had no friends. They were all fake.”
She added that there are moments when she does “regret” ever being on the show — a stunning admission from someone whose relationship was the season’s main storyline.
The Editing War
Not everyone agrees on what viewers actually saw. Bella’s mother, Falen Vaughn, has insisted for months that the show was manipulated in the edit: “You guys only seen about 10 percent of what actually happened… it would have been a lot better if you had actually seen the fun things [Bella and Hunter] did and not just all about drama and just trying to stir the pot.”
Their co-star Mama G, however, has vehemently denied that claim, saying what aired was real — and fans remain split. Some believe Falen pushed Bella toward fame to live vicariously through her; others say the cameras simply showed the truth.
What’s Next — Season 8 Without Her?

Whatever happens next, Bella won’t be part of it. Per TVShowsAce, she will not return for Season 8 even if asked — and her mother agrees one season was enough, though she admits it “did open some doors.”
Other Season 7 couples could fill the gap: Mia Quebedeaux and Jessie Kistler — the fan-favorite pair who survived a devastating house fire in January 2026 and got engaged that May — remain the couple viewers are rooting for, while Isabella Leal-Stone and Bryce Palmer announced their own engagement in February 2026.
But the Bella-and-Hunter era is officially over. Was Bella exploited by the fame machine — or did the cameras just show what was really there? Pick your side: TEAM BELLA or TEAM TLC.
