The idea for the photoshoot came from a challenge by Thanh Tam, and Dang Le agreed to it without hesitation because he wanted to see his wife smile.
Dang Le (a postal worker) and Thanh Tam (a coffee shop owner) are currently living in Texas, USA. The couple decided to travel to Vietnam to create a unique wedding photo collection. Speaking about their “Two Suits, Two Dresses” concept, Dang Le said, “The idea came from a challenge by Tam. I don’t really care about anything else, I just want to make Tam happy. When we did this photoshoot, I didn’t want people to think that I did it just to please Tam. I agreed to this concept because I really liked it, and it’s important for me to see Tam smile.”
Dang Le still remembers the atmosphere of that photoshoot day vividly. “If I had done the photoshoot that day with the mindset of showing everyone what a great husband I am, I wouldn’t remember it as much,” he added.
During the photoshoot, Dang Le frequently joked around to make Thanh Tam laugh. According to Dang Le, his wife’s laughter is very refreshing, so he did it to “spread the mood” to the entire photoshoot team. He said, “In daily life, Tam has to worry about many things, so she can’t always joke around. Therefore, when I have the opportunity, I have to take advantage of it. Sometimes, just seeing Tam smile makes me happy.”
“Anyone who sees our photos for the first time will laugh. People will recall a happy memory related to us or Tam that they unintentionally remember. Our friends are very excited about the natural and humorous expressions in our photos when I made Tam laugh. Some people even downloaded the entire collection on their phones to show their friends. The adults in both families laughed so hard because it was the first time they saw a wedding photo collection with so many humorous, interesting, vivid, and emotional elements,” Dang Le added.
Talking more about their love story, Dang Le and Thanh Tam said they met through a mutual friend. At that time, Dang Le was a soldier fighting in Iraq and unfortunately got shot in the finger. For some reason, his friend joked with Tam that Le had lost his entire arm. At that time, Tam felt sorry for Le, so she contacted him and talked to him.
When they first met, they didn’t have a good impression of each other because their personalities were completely opposite. It wasn’t until later, when they had a chance to meet again, that Le fell in love with Tam and actively courted her.
