TLC Star Amy Slaton Marries Brian Lovvorn in a Haunted Halloween Wedding Straight Out of a Ghost Story

1000-Lb. Sisters star Amy Slaton made Halloween extra magical this year by saying “I do” in a delightfully spooky ceremony!

Amy and her longtime boyfriend Brian Lovvorn exchanged vows at Talbott Tavern, a historic inn and restaurant in Bardstown, Kentucky, long rumored to be haunted. The eerie venue was the perfect choice for the couple, who actually got engaged inside the padded room of a haunted house — making a ghostly setting their one must-have for the big day.

“My wedding is a dream finally coming true,” Amy, 38, shared exclusively . “I’m getting my happily ever after!”

With candles flickering and whispers of history all around, the Halloween night celebration perfectly reflected Amy and Brian’s love of all things spooky — and marked a new, joy-filled chapter for the TLC fan favorite.

The couple’s intimate, “old-timey” wedding was themed “Victorian meets light gray meets dusty blue and white.” The 1000-Lb. Sisters star’s handmade artwork was also on display, alongside “moons everywhere.”

“I deeply cherished the journey of wedding planning, embracing the art and location hunting, but selecting bridesmaids and groomsmen proved to be a profound challenge,” Amy says. “Yet I intuitively knew that my extraordinary friend Ollisha [Davis] (Lee Lee) would graciously accept the esteemed honor of being my maid of honor, even before I extended the heartfelt invitation.”

The bride dyed her hair a “special color” for the big day, per Lovvorn’s request. Back in May, Amy told PEOPLE, “Brian wants me to have pink hair for the wedding, and I want to have a Victorian style updo.” Her wedding gown featured flower and vine details in the beading.

It wasn’t until the wedding processional that Amy and Lovvorn saw each other on their wedding day, making the ceremony in which they exchanged traditional vows even more momentous. The ceremony was officiated by their friend, Billy, who also officiated Tammy Slaton and Caleb Willingham’s wedding in 2022 at Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio.

“Getting married means that I’m no longer lonely because I’ve discovered my soulmate, Brian, is my happy place!” Amy says. “Once you get to know him, you’ll find him to be the sweetest, most caring person you’ll ever have the pleasure of knowing! Not only did he capture my heart, but he also won over my boys and not many men out there will accept a single mom with two energetic boys!”

She continues, “I adore how he inspires me to become the best version of myself. He always puts my well-being — and my boys’ — first, never hesitating to put our needs before his own. He’s so full of life and always excited to try new things with us, or just spend a cozy night at home playing games with the boys!”

Amy, who shares two sons — Gage Deon, 4, and Glenn Allen, 3 — with her ex-husband Michael Halterman, says watching Brian bond with her children has made their relationship even more meaningful.

“Getting married is a promise to spend the rest of our lives trying to make each other’s days as bright and meaningful as possible, no matter what life brings,” says Brian Lovvorn, who first met Amy at a concert in the park.

The celebration continued with a “special” first dance, marking a heartfelt moment between the newlyweds before they joined their loved ones for a down-home feast of barbecue pork and country-fried steak. Guests then indulged in slices of a stunning geode-style wedding cake, along with cupcakes in three decadent flavors — bananas and cream, cookies and cream, and salted caramel dark chocolate — sweetly capping off Amy and Brian’s unforgettable haunted Halloween wedding.

000-Lb. Sisters fans will be able to watch the wedding when it airs on the show.

“I’m excited for them to finally see my Brady Bunch-like loving husband! And that my kids are wonderful and that I’m a boss wife!” Amy says. “I have a husband who will go outside and play sports with my boys!”

Lovvorn adds, “I’m excited for TLC viewers to see my beautiful bride, and also the cool venue.”

Amy and Lovvorn got engaged at Henderson Haunts in Henderson, Kentucky, during winter 2024, with Amy’s sisters, Tammy and Misty, witnessing the special moment. Lovvorn popped the question with a gothic skeleton hands heart-shaped ring, saying, “My love for you is crazy, it’s scary how compatible we are.” The proposal came after five months of dating.

“The next chapter is Amy continuing to do art and hopefully I can start to cover sports while doing some kind of writing,” Lovvorn says. “This and, of course, raise the boys the best we can.”
