Whitney Way Thore Eyes Dream Salem Home as She Considers a Fresh Start

My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thore has her sights set on what she calls a “fantasy” home in Salem, Massachusetts—just as she contemplates a major move that could take her away from Greensboro, North Carolina, where she’s long felt stuck in a rut.

The 41-year-old TLC personality has deep roots in Greensboro, where both her family home and personal residence have been a central part of the series for nearly a decade. But on Season 13, which premiered last month, viewers watch as Thore weighs the idea of relocating to New England—especially if her plans for motherhood through artificial insemination don’t work out.

Although Thore has yet to officially confirm a pregnancy or a permanent move, the season trailer teases that big changes may be on the horizon. At one point, she bluntly tells loved ones, “I signed a lease in Salem, and I’m moving.”

During her visit to the Witch City, Thore and her close friend and trainer Jessica Powell team up with local podcasters Sabrina Deana-Roga and Corinne Vien to tour homes. One standout property: a two-unit waterfront cottage, complete with sliding glass doors, an airy open floor plan, and stunning views.

“This place is gorgeous. The light, the location—pictures didn’t do it justice,” Thore gushes as she explores the interior, which features a galley kitchen in sleek black and white, a spacious shower lined with blue-and-gold tiles, and a cozy deck perfect for relaxing with her dog, Goosie.

While the house is technically two units, Thore notes she’d only occupy one. Still, she and her friends can’t stop imagining the possibilities—from wintery snow scenes along the water’s edge to backyard evenings by a fire pit.

“There’s not one thing that’s not good about this place,” one friend observes, and Thore happily agrees. For her, the Salem property feels like the fresh start she’s been craving.

“Imagine Goosie out here while I read a mystery novel,” she muses from the deck. “If I had to picture my New England cottage on the water, this would be it.”
