My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Thore is setting the record straight after fake AI-generated pregnancy photos of her began circulating online amid her ongoing infertility journey.
On Sunday, October 5, the 41-year-old TLC personality took to Instagram to address the rumors head-on. Sharing two photos along with a direct message to fans, Whitney firmly denied speculation that she’s expecting her first child, making it clear that the viral images were completely fabricated.
My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Thore is setting the record straight after AI-generated pregnancy photos of her went viral online. The 41-year-old TLC personality addressed the situation directly on Instagram, offering both clarification and a firm message to fans.
“I hate to even acknowledge this, but after thousands of messages, comments, and real-life inquiries… this first image is AI-generated,” Whitney wrote in her post. “It was made from the second image, which I posted in January and is real.”
The altered photo appeared to show Whitney sitting on a bench with one arm resting on a basketball and the other holding a strip of sonogram images — seemingly announcing a pregnancy. In the original image, however, she posed in the same spot, leaning on the basketball and resting her chin in her hand, without any pregnancy references.
Whitney admitted that while the fake image was clearly fabricated to her, it was unsettling to realize how convincing AI can be at first glance. “To me, the first image is obviously fake when I look at the ultrasound or zoom in on my fingers — but it is scary because at first glance, just looking at my body and face, I might also question if this was a real photo.”
She used the opportunity to remind her followers to stay critical online, writing, “1) The internet isn’t real. 2) Internet use (and life) requires critical thinking.”
In a candid closing remark, Whitney also called out those who speculate about her personal life on online forums and fan pages, saying, “Anyone writing about or dehumanizing me on a ‘fan page’ or forum is literally just as much a stranger to me as you are. I can promise you that no one who is in my real life is writing about me on the internet — but hundreds of people are mentally ill enough to claim otherwise.”
To conclude the post, Thore declared, “It’s kind of wild to harass a woman with PCOS and fertility issues about whether she’s pregnant or not on a public forum. If and when I’m ready to share, I will. 🤗.”

In the comments, Thore’s fans flooded her with words of support, with one Instagram user writing, “I can’t believe someone did this. I’m so sorry!”
Another shared, “I’m sorry that people are doing this to you and being so rude. Keep shining your light ❤️.”
Someone else wrote, “Damn, before I read the caption, I was so excited for you! As someone who did my own IUI journey as a single woman, I really hope you get what you want! I know how hard it is❤️.”
A different Instagram user admitted, “At first I was excited for you but then read the caption. AI is so scary!!!”
Meanwhile, yet another follower commented, “AI is so scary and I’m so very sorry that people are weaponizing it and using it against you when you are struggling with an issue that is already very difficult to begin with. You are a beautiful and amazing woman with such a big heart! So hold your head high and keep on doing you and always know you are loved. I hope you get your dream no matter what it turns out [to] be. ❤️❤️.”
