“After the breakup, Micah said it felt like Veronica kept adding fuel to several issues and pushing him toward setting everything off.”

Viewers finally witnessed the intense end of Micah Plath and Veronica Peters’ rocky relationship.
The two officially broke up in the season 7 finale of Welcome to Plathville on Sept. 30, after Micah’s family stepped in. When Veronica refused to take responsibility for the fight between Isaac and Micah that left him hospitalized, Micah said he had to make a choice.

He explained that he either had to choose her over his family or walk away — and since he didn’t believe Veronica would change, he ended the relationship.

Veronica, holding back tears, stayed quiet as everyone left. She later said she deserved better than being cheated on and lied about, admitting she may have sabotaged things because she was exhausted by the “toxic” situation.

The couple had been together since 2023. Looking back, Veronica said she knew the relationship wouldn’t last and wished the breakup had happened sooner. She added that being alone isn’t as bad as staying in something that makes you lose love for yourself.

hough Veronica said she genuinely loved Micah during their two years together, she believed his family was what ultimately drove them apart.

“I never imagined it would end like this, but I guess it’s partly on me,” she admitted.

As Micah tried to figure out what to do next, his mom urged him not to drive back to Florida with Veronica to get his things. Instead, he went with his brothers while producers took her separately.

“If this gets dragged out any longer, it’ll only make everything harder,” he said.
The following day, police escorted Micah as he moved out of the home he once shared with Veronica.

“It was tough,” he admitted. “At first I was still frustrated, but when I started clearing out the garage and grabbing the last of my stuff, it hit me. I broke down… and so did she.”

Veronica kept asking, “Why? Just tell me you never loved me so I can have closure.”
Micah told her he couldn’t say that because he truly loved her — more than anyone he’d ever been with.

Though she wondered aloud if she had just been his “guinea pig,” Micah insisted their relationship was real. He apologized for hurting her but said he couldn’t keep going like that.
It was the last conversation they ever had.

After moving back into his childhood home while figuring out where to live in Florida, Micah chose to do a “controlled burn” on the family farm — something he said symbolized the end of his relationship.

“It’s going to create a huge cloud of smoke and look chaotic,” he explained. “A controlled burn is risky if done wrong, but it prevents an even bigger fire later. Sometimes you have to burn everything down — good and bad — when it can’t be saved, so you can start over.”

Micah said the metaphor fit how things felt with Veronica.

“It felt like she kept pouring lighter fluid on everything and daring me to set it off,” he said. “Every argument, every time she told me to pack up and leave, I didn’t want to. I had the matches in my hand, but I didn’t want to strike them.”

Still, Micah admitted she forced him to confront his own mistakes.

“Even if she wasn’t the one, she made me realize I’d been living a double life and hiding things from my past,” he said. “I cheated on her. I feel horrible for that. I’ve learned that everything catches up to you eventually — the truth always comes out.”
