During the episode, cast members were shocked to learn that Colt had been rushed away by paramedics following a serious fall that left him with a leg injury. At the time, Colt had been building a romantic connection with Cortney Reardanz and was spending the morning in her room when the accident occurred.
“He was just in my room having breakfast and chatting,” Cortney recalled. “Then I looked out my door, and he was lying on the ramp outside.” She explained that it had been raining that day and Colt had slipped. Initially, she assumed he was playing a prank—but it quickly became clear that this was no joke. Colt was seriously hurt, and the situation turned dire fast.
As Colt was being taken away in an ambulance, he revealed to his castmates that he had reinjured the same leg he previously broke. According to Screen Rant, Colt originally suffered the injury in December 2022 while filming a trampoline segment for 90 Day Fiancé. His then-fiancée, Vanessa, later shared that the injury was severe — Colt underwent five surgeries and was unable to participate in 90 Day: The Last Resort as originally planned. He and Vanessa were replaced by Molly Hopkins and Kelly Brown.
Back at the hotel in Episode 9, Cortney opened up about the emotional toll of witnessing Colt’s accident and being by his side in the aftermath.
“The past 24 hours have just been exhausting,” she said. “Emotionally, I feel like I’ve been hit by a semi. I came to the cenote just to clear my mind, but honestly, my thoughts are still with Colt.”
Cortney also revealed that she told the hospital staff she was Colt’s wife so she could stay with him during treatment. “We’ve been telling the hospital I’m his wife so I could go in the rooms with him,” she admitted.
Colt Shared An Update On Instagram After His Frightening Injury
In July, Colt gave fans a glimpse into the severity of his leg injury by sharing X-ray images on Instagram, revealing the extensive metal hardware that had to be inserted. The photos made it clear just how serious the damage was — and how intense his recovery would be.
Following the broadcast of the episode, Colt posted additional images and video from his hospital stay, showing himself lying in a hospital bed after surgery. In a heartfelt caption, he opened up about the terrifying experience and the risks he faced while being transferred between hospitals.
“The first hospital they took me to, in Tulum, couldn’t handle my injury,” Colt explained. “So they moved me to Playa Del Carmen, an hour away. It was very dangerous because my fractures could’ve caused internal bleeding if moved too much.”
Fortunately, the medical team in Playa Del Carmen exceeded his expectations.
“The hospital where I had my surgery was amazing. Everyone was professional and kind. They treated me with the utmost care and made sure all my needs were met. I truly felt lucky to have such a great team supporting me through such a difficult time.”
Colt even shared a candid detail from his recovery:
“You may notice I’m strapped with a fentanyl patch on my back,” he added. “That and the MoPo were always on point.”
