‘She hates it’: Bride gutted over family’s reaction to her ‘tablecloth’ wedding dress on Say Yes To The Dress: Lancashire

When Chelsie slipped on her dream wedding dress, she had one brief in mind – to finally “feel like me again”.

So when she found a dress that ticked all the boxes, what about it was so bad, it left her family shaken? It looked like a “tablecloth”, apparently.

And in this situation, telling the truth isn’t easy.

In a recent episode of Say Yes To The Dress: Lancashire – which you can watch for free on 9Now– Chelsie was searching for a dress that would celebrate her “post-baby body”.

“A really floaty skirt, a very relaxed sort of feel, and not too formal,” Chelsie explained to bridal expert Gok Wan.

Along for the ride was her mum, her God-mother and future mother-in-law – three important women to Chelsie.”My God-mother is such a big part of my life,” said the bride-to-be. “It wouldn’t feel right if she didn’t like the dress.”

The dress in question was the “gorgeous” lace number that Gok picked out.”This dress is just so right,” said Chelsie as she opened her eyes.”This dress is really boosting my confidence. I feel like I can just be me again. If they don’t like this, it will break my heart.”

Chelsie’s mum thought it was “different” and was in fact growing on her. Chelsie’s God-mum had other thoughts.
