🚨 “I’ve Changed”: Unexpected‘s Jason Korpi Says Family Life Saved Him — Fans Aren’t Buying It
Jason Korpi is trying to flip the script — but longtime Unexpected viewers aren’t exactly lining up for the redemption arc.
Earlier this month, the TLC alum — often dubbed the most-hated cast member in the show’s history — resurfaced on his nearly silent TikTok account to share a rare family video. The clip showed his girlfriend Kylen Smith and their two kids: son Xavier and baby daughter Oakley, who was born in October.
The video opened with an old photo of Jason and the text:
“OMG I used to know him. He’s so…”
Then it cuts to a sweet family moment, with Jason writing:
“You knew me for my irresponsible behavior and partying, before I found out the real meaning of life. This family saved me…”
But fans aren’t quick to forgive — or forget.

ason gained major backlash during Season 5 of Unexpected, when he was seen controlling Kylen throughout her pregnancy and isolating her from her family. But the tipping point? Kylen’s labor scene, where Jason’s behavior went from concerning to outright abusive.
🚫 He pressured Kylen into having a home birth with no meds.
🚑 When the midwives insisted she go to the hospital for her safety, he resisted.
❌ At the hospital, he refused to let her get an epidural, calling her a “drug addict” and a “pu**y.”
😡 He was so out of line, the hospital kicked him out.
The internet erupted. A petition demanding TLC cut ties with Jason gathered over 14,000 signatures.
And his issues didn’t stop there.

In early 2022, Jason was arrested on 11 criminal charges, including Aggravated DUI and resisting arrest. Later that year, he was found guilty of three charges, including DUI.
Since then, he’s stayed mostly under the radar — until now.
While Jason insists fatherhood has changed him, fans remain unconvinced. On Reddit, the reaction to his “glow-up” video was brutally honest:
“I’m sure he hasn’t changed. She still looks like she has no life in her eyes and he still looks like he’s smirking.”
“What a cop out. He’s an abuser, and he didn’t even acknowledge the abuse. People like him don’t just magically change.”
Some viewers argue that growth starts with accountability — and so far, Jason’s just trying to rebrand without really owning up to the past.
