Ethan, 27, tried to tread lightly but didn’t hold back during the August 5 episode of Welcome to Plathville. “I want you to be happy, and I’m very happy to see that you’re happy,” he told his 21-year-old sister Lydia. “But I just have to say it — you’ve only known him for three months, and you’re getting married in two. Are you sure you’re good with that?”

While Lydia insisted she was certain Zac was “The One,” Ethan couldn’t shake his concerns about the pace of the relationship — especially since the couple had already set a wedding date before Zac officially proposed.
“It’s too fast. It’s too much,” Ethan said, before dropping the blunt truth. “I don’t really know him. I don’t really like him. Just being honest with you.” He admitted he wasn’t sure if his feelings were due to not knowing Zac well or simply being a protective older brother, but either way, he felt everything was moving at lightning speed.
Lydia fell silent before breaking down into tears, wrapping her arms around her big brother Ethan. Between sobs, Ethan admitted, “I feel like I don’t really know you. We don’t talk much now that you’re gone.”
Their heartfelt conversation took place just hours before Zac’s surprise proposal — and through their tears, they both realized the real tension might not be Zac at all.
