Despite the challenges of walking and getting around, the bride with a disability and her ‘little’ groom couldn’t hide their happiness and smiles on their wedding day.
On social media, many people have shared a video clip of a dream-like wedding of a couple with disabilities. The video shows the bride, who has difficulty walking, and the groom, who has a small stature and is only as tall as the bride’s hips.
What caught everyone’s attention and admiration was the groom’s loving care for his bride despite his small stature. He carefully helped her carry her dress, and the bride had to hold onto his shoulder to make her way up to the stage. Once they reached the table next to the stage, the groom even pulled out a chair for his bride to sit on.
The love story of this special couple has received a lot of attention and admiration from people who have sent their best wishes to them. It was later revealed that the groom in the video is Dau Van Quy (born in 1992) and the bride is Nguyen Thi Binh (born in 1982), both from Vietnam. Their wedding took place on March 10th at the groom’s family home.
The groom, Dau Van Quy, shared that he was born with a congenital disability. The couple met each other in a disability group and, due to their shared experiences, they were able to easily empathize and understand each other. After dating for six months, they decided to live together.
“I believe we met each other at the right time. The length of time of a relationship doesn’t matter to me. What’s important is that we understand each other and are in sync,” Quy said.
The groom also revealed that the bride used to have a normal appearance like everyone else, but after a traffic accident, she has had difficulty walking ever since.
To be together, the couple had to overcome many difficulties, especially opposition from their families.
Quy is the eldest of three siblings in his family and his disability has made his life very challenging. Three to four years ago, he moved to Saigon, Vietnam, and sold lottery tickets for a living.
After their wedding, the couple plans to continue their livelihood in Saigon.
