Everyone thinks they know why Kara Bass and Guillermo Rojer broke up: her OnlyFans career killed the marriage. Now Kara says that story is wrong — and Guillermo is telling fans not to believe a word of her version. Here is where the rumor came from, what Kara actually said, and why the fandom is tearing itself in two.

Where the Rumors Started

Kara opened her adult content page while pregnant with their son, Nico, as an extra income stream — and it became the central conflict of their season on 90 Day: The Last Resort. Guillermo said he could not stay in a marriage where adult content was involved. At the recommitment ceremony he never showed up; co-star Patrick read a breakup letter on his behalf. At the Tell All, Kara admitted the career was pulling in six figures a month. To much of the fandom, the story was settled: she chose the platform, and the platform ended the marriage.

Kara’s Side: “I Chose Myself”

On the October 14 episode of the Decisions, Decisions podcast, Kara insisted money pushed her toward adult content: she started the page for extra income while caring for Nico, and only kept posting because, in her words, Guillermo was not financially stable enough to provide for the three of them. She added that she stepped away from the platform when her marriage suffered, and only returned after they separated ahead of filming.

She also accused Guillermo of publicly humiliating her on TV, claiming he only changed his stance after seeing fan reactions — and that he never raised his family’s disapproval until they were filming. On the Reality Gays podcast, she said it never crossed her mind he would skip the recommitment ceremony, and listed career plans she claims she bankrolled for him — a lawn care business, a children’s book, even a military stint — that never came to fruition. Her bottom line: she did not choose sex work over her husband; she chose herself, her music, her real estate work, and her role as Nico’s primary caregiver.

Guillermo’s Response: “Be Careful With What You Believe”

Guillermo answered under an Instagram reel of her interview, dismissing her version as a “crazy story” and warning, “People, be careful with what you believe.” He has not released a full statement. On the show, his position was consistent: the adult content was unacceptable to him, and if she was going to commit to the business, he hoped she would earn as much from it as possible. Kara is on a multi-podcast media run; Guillermo has offered almost nothing beyond that one warning — dignity, or a man with no counterargument, depending on who you ask.

The Fandom Is Splitting in Two

Team Kara says the provider question is the real story: if a new mother cannot trust her partner to provide, she finds a way — and the double standards around women in adult entertainment do the rest. Team Guillermo fires back that trust, not money, was the issue: she made a choice, the choice broke the marriage, and the podcast tour is history rewritten. His “be careful what you believe” line has become their rallying cry — and with Kara now on 90 Day: Hunt for Love Season 2, the debate is only getting louder.

So tell us: was OnlyFans the reason Kara and Guillermo’s marriage ended — or just the excuse everyone settled on? Team Kara, or Team Guillermo? Drop your verdict below.
