As for Trent, while he hoped for the best, he wasn’t all that comfortable at the hospital when it came time for the delivery. He explained why, and it was mainly because his daughter went into surgery without him or Amber Johnston being with her. At the time, she was 21, so it wasn’t their place to accompany her to the surgical room entrance. Instead, they stepped aside and let Brice Bolden, the baby’s father go with her.
He said, “This was the very first time Amber [hadn’t] gone back with one of our kids.” When the kids were little, they always went with their children. It was hard to not be able to reassure Liz that all would be well was hard for him. He noted, “Brice was there this time. You know, Elizabeth and Brice, this was their child and they needed to be together for this…so that was tough.”
