Vannessa Cross Opens Up About the Rift on 1000-Lb Best Friends
1000-Lb Best Friends Season 3 is currently airing on TLC, but tensions have surfaced among the cast members. At the season’s start, Meghan Crumpler and Ashley Sutton made it clear that they were no longer in contact with Vannessa Cross. While it appears they are beginning to reconcile onscreen, the reasons behind their split are more complex.
Vannessa Shares Her Side of the Story
In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Vannessa Cross addressed the drama surrounding her friendships. Many fans felt disheartened to see Meghan and Ashley treating Vannessa poorly, speculating that jealousy over her remarkable weight loss success might be a factor.
Vannessa shed light on her perspective: “It was around six to eight months post-surgery when my weight loss accelerated. I think my friends felt I was being a bit too militant, but I saw it as a success I wanted to share with them.”
She explained that her intention was to encourage Meghan and Ashley to adopt healthier habits, but her suggestions were not received well. “I may have come off a bit too forceful. Sometimes, drastic weight loss can make others feel uncomfortable, especially if they’re struggling with their own journey,” Vannessa reflected. “The girls didn’t mean to be cruel; they just stopped responding to my outreach and gradually distanced themselves.”
Progress and Healing Among Friends
Vannessa continued to discuss the emotional reality of the early episodes in Season 3, noting the raw moments in support group settings and during the smoothie incident. “I wouldn’t say it was purely jealousy, but it was strange for me. After my significant weight loss, they just stopped communicating without any explanation, which left me confused,” she admitted.
Despite the challenges, Vannessa believes there are still unspoken issues between them, but they’ve made progress in addressing their problems. “Our friendships are definitely on the mend,” she shared, emphasizing the importance of working through their differences.
